Matthew Calandra hard-ground drawing
Matthew Calandra has been drawing up portraits for the last few months as part of a Cicada Press residency he was invited to be part of. The resulting body of works include portraits of artists such as Ian Grant, Vernon Ah-Kee, Michael Kempson, Elisabeth Cummings and many more. These prints will be shown at Gaffa Gallery in the next few months (more details to come).
Here is a little video that was shot from Matthew's perspective while he was drawing up a portrait of Rafael Butron. The camera was mounted to Matt's head, so it's a bit shaky at times.
Matthew was joking around and finished the portrait of Rafael as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle!
After having a laugh, he did another portrait which ended up looking like this:

Iain Dawson
A video interview of Iain Dawson in his Sydney gallery. My show was on at the time, so you can catch a glimpse.
(Un)seen Sculptures 2012
I've had a work accepted in to an augmented reality exhibition call (Un)seen Scultpures which is happening as part of Sydney Art Month 2012.
Augmented reality means that I (with much help from the curator Warren Armstrong) created a 3D digital model which was then virtually placed in a physical location. At the location you can only see the work if you view it through a smart phone or tablet. The website describes it :
The exhibition is on until March 31st in the Rozelle area, and there will be tours on Sat the 17th, 24th and 31st of March.
You'll find the work in Rozelle (Sydney) at the following location (google maps) :

Situated in these locations will be virtual digital works; hidden from the naked eye but visible to anyone with an iPhone, Android or Nokia smartphone and an app called theLayar Reality Browser, that can be downloaded for free from iTunes, the Android Market or the Ovi Store.Once they have downloaded this app, people can simply open it up, search for “unseen”, select the layer set up for the show, then hold up their phones at the designated locations, and they will see 3D artworks. When these artworks are “touched”, further information about them will be revealed and other forms of interaction may be unlocked.
